Dowel

Back to my previous materials this year to really resolve what I was doing last year. It was driving me insane knowing I hadn't felt like it was finished.
At the moment I have been instructed to make my forms neater. Not sure why as I like the sort of roughness of my works but apparently my teacher would prefer them neater. SO I'll give it a go, but there's a limit to how neat you can get something with hot glue.
Due to the surfaces that are glued together being so small, it is difficult to find an adhesive that will hold them together as well as take on the weight of the entire form. Hot glue is used because it dries so quickly. Most of my other options just don't, and I don't want to create a plaster form underneath, like the artist Tyler Aiello does, as I feel the form won't grow into it's own ..form. It'll just be a replica of the form I made it around. And that's just plain boring.

The suggestion I have tried out here is using uncut dowel to prop up the form and reinforce it. I merely wanted to see how small a curve I could make without the dowel slices becoming to sharp and then the curve being too jagged.
I'll do the same with the cardboard rings found at Reverse Art Truck in Ringwood.
