This is my first attempt at pushing a cardboard tube into clay, TRYING to get that outer texture on the cardboard rings KEPT on the outside, even in a plaster replication.
On one side, is a flattened surface where I had poured the plaster into the mold and wiped it away to create the holes. I want to keep this flattened side on the inside and the nice textured side on the outside. Proving difficult.
Hello Rosie,
ReplyDeleteWhen I studied ceramics in Belfast ( a long time ago). I dropped the clay onto egg boxes I don't know whether you get those in Oz but the big square sheets of egg boxes that are used commercially you get a fantastic effect, stretched and sometimes punctured. These are great and actually remind me of fiber art.
Wow, no I've never heard of them but I'm sure to look them up!
ReplyDeleteWe just get the regular dozen/half dozen egg cartons, no holes in those.
Thanks so much for the feedback though.
