The previous dowel pieces (curves and such) fell to PIECES due to a really shotty batch of hot glue. I didn't know this until I bought a cheap glue gun with some included glue and they worked.
But I still like these pieces above, I may just leave them like this or continue to explore this shape. Maybe in fragments or just with the inclusion of the longer dowel pieces, either way I have to get moving on it.
These two are about 10 minute attempts at making molds of the dowel and cardboard pieces, which I could've done a lot better but didn't due to lack of time and material. I used a petroleum jelly or Vaseline to act as a release agent, but obviously wouldn't work very well as I couldn't get it in between every crack and such. There are other ways I can get molds of these materials. I am trying to make molds so I can recreate them in a cheaper or more abundant material as these two materials are rather impractical and hard to find. I want to try a quick one in plaster, but I have to get the mold right first!
