Ron Mueck Wild Man

Wild Man
I love this sculpture! This giant nude man is so very intimidated by it's audience. People walk around this entire gallery viewing all these nude realistic figures and this one seems to be the only one that appears scared and vulnerable.
The skin of the wild man is magnificent as it has that opacity and marbled effect pale skin has. He also has a few freckles over his body as well as goose bumps and the hair above his arse crack and shoulders, as well as many other places.
I feel a man that has so much hair and the essence of 'real man', I suppose, shouldn't appear so scared, but here he is.
These feet were done so well. I loved the feet throughout this exhibition as the toes weren't always perfect as many people have (due to the squishing of shoes!), the hair on the toes, the toe and fingernails looked amazingly real. The wrinkles and crinkles in the feet and hands as well as the veins all resembled that of the real human body.
